We visited Finca Shekinah in 2010 and were more than impressed with what we saw. In 2004 the farm was recognised by the United Nations as a model business for reducing poverty in El Salvador. A number of excellent and rare practises made Finca Shekinah stand out from others for us. Farm owners built a bakery on their land for the workers’ wives to bake bread to sell in the local market, any profit they make is their own.
