London Coffee Festival 2016. 7-10 April.
London Coffee Festival, Postcard Series
The team are readying themselves for this year’s London Coffee Festival, which kicks of this Thursday at the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane.
For those of you that don’t know LCF it’s the main festival in the UK coffee calendar and is of epic proportions. It’s one-part party, one-part coffee show and another-part party. It’s just a heap of fun.
What we’re up to there:
Comps. UKBC & Brewers Cup
Excitingly we have six competitors between the Nationals of the UK Barista Championships and the UK Brewers Cup which are both being held there this year. With the UKBC focusing on espresso and Brewers focusing on filter by the end of the weekend we’ll celebrate the awarding of the two highest prizes in UK coffee.
Semi-finals on Thursday
Joshua Tarlo – brewing Panama Mama Cata Geisha
Jack Henderson – brewing Ethiopia Nefas
Ed Greenall – brewing a sneak peek of our latest
Semi-finals on Saturday
Dan Fellows – brewing Ethiopia Nekisse N2
Jesse Dodkins – brewing Ethiopia Nefas
Will Pitts – brewing Ethiopia Suke Quto
La Marzocco Roasters Village
We'll be brewing at this throughout the weekend so pop over and have a chat. They’ll be brewing Pathfinder Espresso as well as this month’s featured, Villa Karina from Colombia.
We’ll also be releasing the next in our Special Edition Series, Mama Cata Geisha from Panama. This is one special coffee and what Joshua (our Head of Coffee) is using for his Brewers Cup routine.
We’ll also be releasing a special UKBC set, showcasing the comp coffees being used by our team in the nationals.
During the festival we’re looking forward to serving flights of our team’s UKBC nationals coffees at our café on Charlotte Road in Shoreditch. These are the actual three drinks the judges will be being served by Dan Fellows, William Pitts and Jesse Dodkins.
Beside those you’ll also have a chance to taste Jack Henderson, Ed Greenall and Joshua Tarlo’s Brewers Cup finalist coffees.
You can also drink or take home our Special Edition Panamanian Mama Cata Geisha and buy our UKBC Competition Set.
