When developing this Christmas blend, we were looking for coffees that would evoke notes of classic Christmas flavours. Of stewed fruit and rich chocolate, with a touch of Christmas spices.
To achieve this we turned to the classic session coffee, Nicaragua Los Altos, for the smooth, chocolate-noted base. We then blended in El Salvador San Antonio honey process for its incredible stewed plum flavours and caramel sweetness. The final layer was then added through the gentle spicy notes of the Burundi Nyangwe. The result is a coffee with outtakes of fig and Christmas pudding with a long, chocolatey finish.
The roast profile of our Christmas Blend has been developed so that it's suitable for brewing both as filter and espresso.
The flavour notes are the outtakes from the profile of the coffee itself. No additional flavours or ingredients are in this blend, just 100% speciality grade arabica coffee.
Please note that the 250g bag listed has a Christmas blend sleeve, as shown in the image. The 1kg bag has a standard label.
Espresso: 1:2 coffee to water, extracted in 28-32 secs
Filter: 60-65g coffee per litre of water, brewed for 3-4 mins
Roast & despatch days are currently Monday to Friday. All orders placed after midnight on Thursday will be roasted and despatched on Monday.
We create a new and unique profile for each coffee we roast. Although the profiles are different, our approach is always the same, to highlight and accentuate the flavours created at the farm and mill. This means we don’t label our coffees as espresso, filter, dark or light roast. This coffee is omni-roast, meant to be delicious however you brew. We believe the heart of speciality is keeping the identity and character of every coffee intact and alive, no matter the brew method.
