This incredibly floral and elegant Gesha coffee from Panama is the latest from our Special Edition series. 

We met Luis Miranda and Aliss Hartmann last year whilst visiting Finca Hartmann in Panama. They bought Finca Momoto three years ago and their first harvest became available earlier last year.

The farm is only 8 hectares in size but contains a large array of rare varietals, including Java, Laurina and this Gesha. Luis and Aliss only wanted to make top quality coffee, which is reflected in this extraordinary crop.

Luis’ background is as a vegetable grower in California. He was famous in the community for growing organic vegetables, especially melon. This knowledge extends to his work at Finca Momoto. Both himself and Aliss are kind spirited and love sharing their knowledge with others.

Expect a medium, juicy body and elegant acidity with punchy notes of apricot, mango and honeydew.

BREW RATIOS

Espresso: 1:2 coffee to water, extracted in 28-32 secs
Filter: 60-65g coffee per litre of water, brewed for 3-4 min

ROAST TYPE

We create a new and unique profile for each coffee we roast. Although the profiles are different, our approach is always the same, to highlight and accentuate the flavours created at the farm and mill. This means we don't label our coffees as espresso, filter, dark or light roast. All of our coffees are omni-roast, meant to be delicious however you brew. We believe the heart of speciality is keeping the identity and character of every coffee intact and alive, no matter the brew method.
