  • Gatta Farm, located in Shantawene Village, Sidama Bensa, Ethiopia, is the focal point of Daye Bensa’s specialty coffee program. Situated at 2,120–2,210 meters above sea level, it is surrounded by natural forest with century-old trees, waterfalls, and rivers flowing from the Keramo hills. The farm is named after a waterfall on its grounds.

Originally a natural forest, Gatta Farm began coffee cultivation in 2013, with a drying station established in 2017. The forest provides natural shade for coffee plants and drying beds, contributing to the quality of the beans. Local residents manage planting, harvesting, and processing, with women taking on key roles in quality control, earning fair wages in the process.

This honey-processed coffee is depulped with mucilage intact, dried under shaded conditions, and frequently stirred to prevent clumping. The result is a coffee with distinct blueberry notes and clear, identifiable characteristics.
