Loma is another example of the incredible coffees produced by our Direct Trade partners, The Mierisch Family.

It is a classic, naturally processed coffee that the family enjoy day to day. Erwin says it’s simple, sweet and solid, like the corner street food shop in their neighbourhood. It has a medium, smooth body and long, chocolatey finish.

Erwin J. Mierisch was a head judge for the 2011 Honduran Cup of Excellence (COE) competition and saw great potential in coffee there. At the time, Honduras was a country overlooked when it came to high-quality coffee production. Despite this, the family were drawn to the Cerro Azul farm and wanted to share their extensive production knowledge that they had learnt in Nicaragua. Cerro Azul receives high rainfall however, the native clay soil naturally retains water and is rich in nutrients.

ROAST TYPE:

  • We create a new and unique profile for each coffee we roast. Although the profiles are different, our approach is always the same, to highlight and accentuate the flavours created at the farm and mill. This means we don't label our coffees as espresso, filter, dark or light roast. This coffee is omni-roast, meant to be delicious however you brew. We believe the heart of speciality is keeping the identity and character of every coffee intact and alive, no matter the brew method.
