Sunday is... Zealand Road
Welcome to Zealand Road. Perched on the corner of a road of the same name and Roman Road, this funky little coffee shop who deal in all things delicious has been open less than a year. Yet, when we asked you to tell us where you get a great coffee, Zealand Road Coffee came up more than any other name.
Clearly Rachael, Laurie and the team have made a massive impact on their area in the short time they've been open and have quite a reputation among the locals as not only a great place to grab a cup of coffee - Origin nonetheless - but with food and snacks to die for.
In a recent blog post about Zealand Road, the only 'critism' (if you can call it that) was that they only had one salad on the menu (sounds like our kind of place!) and that a lemon curd spread for toast and bagels would be appreaciated. Not exactly pressing issues, but it seems when you're trying to review a blummin' good place, you have to nit-pick.
Their coffee menu is comprehensive and accomplished, so you can be rest assured while you're parting with your hard-earned cash for your daily caffeine hit, that it's not going to be money wasted. Rachel and Laurie, fellow Cornishmen and long-term coffee fans, accomplished baristas and all-round foodies, make sure their demand for quality goes through their entire cafe, from the coffee to the cakes and back again.
So I think it's safe to sat there will be no burnt milk, bitter over-extracted/under-extracted espresso or frapawapa caramel lattecinos here. Just the good stuff.
If you're in the area, drop in and say hi. You wont be disappointed.
