Grow the City - Guerrilla Gardening Event
Join us on Saturday 30th August as we join forces with environmental education charity Global Generation to breathe new life into a forgotten space in the heart of London.
A hands-on experience
Join Origin and environmental education charity Global Generation to breathe new life into a forgotten green space in the heart of London. Supported by Blundstone UK and Niwaki, this guerrilla gardening event blends community action, sustainability, and hands-on connection to the land.
Guided by Global Generation, you will be guerrilla gardening in the nearby housing estates that the team have been greening as part of their Future Neighbourhoods 2030 project. Together, attendees will be reimagining a neglected space, creating something beautiful and biodiverse for the local community to enjoy.
After coffee and a theory lesson, enjoy a tour of Global Generation’s Story Garden, their revived local community garden space (previously a concrete car park), pick up Niwaki tools, and a pair of Blundstones (yours to keep after the event) and head to the site for a few hours of gardening. The hands-on part of the day involves clearing and planting, with a focus on low-maintenance, shade-loving plants and wildflowers selected to suit the space.
A celebration of social connection, community wellbeing and ecological restoration that's welcome to all - whether you’re a seasoned grower or just curious to get involved, this is a chance to meet like-minded people and be part of something quietly powerful.
