Electric Brewer Brew Guide
What is an Electric Brewer?
An electric coffee brewer is designed to make exceptional filter coffee at home simple and repeatable. By managing key brewing variables such as water temperature, flow rate and contact time, it reduces the guesswork involved in manual brewing methods while still delivering a balanced, flavourful cup. Modern brewers such as the Fellow Aiden also offer greater control over recipe settings, giving you the flexibility to brew to your preferences, whether you're preparing a morning cup or a larger batch to share.
Our Approach

Step by Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare your setup by gathering all ingredients and equipment.
Step 2
Grind 60g of coffee to a medium-coarse consistency (granulated sugar texture).
Step 3
For this 1L brew recipe, insert the batch brew basket and add a batch brew filter paper.
Step 4
Add the ground coffee to the basket and gently shake to level the bed.
Step 5
On the underside of the lid, turn the shower head switch to the three blue dots (the batch brew setting), then close the lid.
Step 6
Fill the water reservoir with 1L of cold water.
Step 7
Place the jug, with its lid on, beneath the brewer.

Using the control wheel, select the Instant Brew setting. The brewer will automatically brew all the water in the reservoir.

Brewing Tips
- Both the filter paper and coffee grounds are suitable for home composting.
- For best results, grind your coffee immediately before brewing. Freshly ground coffee will produce a more flavourful, balanced cup.
- Filtered water will improve flavour clarity, while helping protect your brewer from limescale build-up.
- If your brew lacks sweetness or body, try a slightly finer grind. If it tastes bitter or drying, grind a little coarser.
- Once you're comfortable using the Instant Brew setting, experiment with the Aiden's Guided Brew and custom brewing profiles to optimise recipes for different coffees and roast levels.
