Coffee Cocktails: Headstand x Carlos Pola

Celebrating true collaboration. Carlos Pola is one of our longest standing Direct Trade partners so we found out his leaf is one of the main ingredients in Headstand - the world's first coffee leaf seltzer - a coffee cocktail collaboration that combined his coffee (AKI) with Headstand, was a no brainer. 

Here we have the Pola Citrus Fiz.

Headstand has some lovely floral qualities so we wanted the cocktail to replicate that and build on that flavour profile to compliment headstand as much as possible. Oolong and Orange extract are key components to do this job within the drink.

RECIPE

AKI FLASH BREW RECIPE

  • 175g Ice
  • 30g Medium Fine
  • Aki 300ml

Water 50g Bloom, then at 30 seconds steady pouring rate until all 300ml water is poured.

OOLONG TEA RECIPE

  • 6 grams loose leaf Oolong
  • 250ml Hot Water

Brew for 4 mins

COCKTAIL RECIPE

  • 30ml Origin Coffee El Salvador Aki flash brew
  • 50ml Headstand yuzu & ginger
  • 35ml Gin
  • 20ml Cointreau
  • 15ml Oolong tea
  • 10ml fresh lemon juice
  • 5 grams Honey or agave 
  • 10 mint leaves
  • 10 rosemary leaves
  • 1 gram orange blossom extract
