Carlos Pola and his family have been in the coffee business for over a century, and we have proudly shared a direct trade relationship with them since 2014. When coffee rust disease devastated their farms in 2012, Carlos saw this as an opportunity to elevate their practices, and today, his farms are known for high-quality coffee and sustainable methods, including permaculture, reduced pesticide and fertiliser use, and the creation of a self-sufficient agricultural ecosystem.
A true pioneer in the industry, he is widely recognised for his dedication to transparency and traceability, and an innovative vision and passion for experimentation.

Whilst El Salvador might be the smallest country in Central America, it has a long and successful history of coffee production dating back to the 1880’s. Renowned for growing some of the world’s most sought-after and high-quality varietals, the country has a broad and highly skilled coffee community. Today's generation of farmers have shifted the focus from quantity to cup excellence, keen to experiment with processes and plant type - placing El Salvador firmly on the world map of speciality coffee.
