Hops, malts and coffee combine this month with the release of 'Off the Ground', our collaboration with with the inspiring team from Verdant Brewing Co.
Verdant's stunning brewery is based in Penryn, Cornwall. Inside, a monolith of machinery towers above us, as we are given a tour of their operations by Head of Operations, James Goulding and Marketing Manager, Timothé Duquenne.
Collaboration runs deep here with this stout and we're proud to champion this partnership with the Verdant team, which incorporates two of our single-origin coffees, San Fermin and Goru Muda.
120 litres of our San Fermin (washed) cold brew from Colombia, was used at the end of the fermentation, to add a coffee-like finish, for the beer to bounce off. At the end of the process they added 50kg of Goru Muda (natural) from Ethiopia, which is full of vibrant tropical fruit notes. This was added to the beer via a bespoke 250-litre vessel, the day before packaging.
The finished product, Off the Ground, is deliciously decadent—a layered stout malt bill that boasts plummy raisins and rich roast, buoyed by classic notes of chocolate and caramel that sing alongside a heady fruit palette of strawberries, mango, and oranges.
Off the Ground is available in packs of four 440ml cans. Please drink responsibly.
