Origin

Coffee production at Fazenda Das Almas began in 1965. Adriano Muniz later took over from his father and modernised operations to meet market demands, improve processes and enhance quality. Social and environmental impact is central to their work; 37% of the land is home to native wild plants and is protected, with 7,000m of ecological corridors and 21 water springs. Since 2017, a biogas-powered generator has made the farm energy self-sufficient, even supporting the city’s supply. The family also contributes to local schools and day care centres with monthly donations, focusing on student meals and educational initiatives.

Origin

The world’s largest coffee producer, Brazil has huge influence in the global coffee market. Although producing more than a third of the world’s coffee, the growing conditions here can be challenging; producers not only have to manage the lower-than-optimal altitudes and non-volcanic soils, but also extreme climate conditions, from drought, to frost. Typically low in acidity, sweet, and heavy-bodied, Brazillian coffee is often easily distinguished and well-loved thanks to its approachable, desirable notes of chocolate and nuts.

    Gorgeous

We tried this coffee in St Ives and asked the coffee shop owner what it was. Thankfully she told us and we tracked it down. Such a beautiful coffee.

    Yes!

I was 'forced' to switch to this when my favourite Sail Ship went out of season. Well, it turned out to be no punishment at all! Beautifully rounded with just enough bite to make me take notice! I only used it for pourover but I'm sure it would be great in the aeropress too

    Gentle yet interesting

By no means the most out there coffee available, but a really great quality for daily coffees throughout the week. Das Almas and Sail are my go-to when I'm struggling to pick between some of the short term specials. I've been subscribed to Dal Almas for several months now and it's still really enjoyable.

I brew filter coffees with a v60, so unsure how this would be for espresso.

    Nice but not as nice

We normally have Beija Flor which we love but due to unavailability we had Das Almas which is nice but not as nice as Beija Flor.
